MAKÜ strengthened its position in the top 1000 of the RUR 2026 World University Rankings

The Round University Ranking (RUR), which evaluates universities worldwide with multidimensional criteria, shared the results of the 2026 World University Rankings with the public.
Having entered the RUR ranking for the first time in 2025, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) strengthened its position in the Turkey ranking in the 2026 results. MAKÜ rose from 41st place nationwide last year to 37th place this year.
According to RUR 2026 data, MAKÜ maintained its position among the top 1000 universities by ranking 961st globally. The university's overall performance score increased from 37.547 to 39.1.
In the results, MAKÜ's strongest progress was seen in the teaching area. The university climbed from 722nd to 640th place in the RUR Teaching Ranking, rising 82 places. In the Turkey ranking, MAKÜ also rose from 16th to 15th place, with its teaching score increasing from 47.932 to 52.446.
In the performance category related to academic staff and undergraduate graduations, MAKÜ ranked 21st globally. This result became one of the important indicators supporting the university's international visibility in terms of educational capacity and academic human resources.
The RUR World University Ranking compares university performances across 20 indicators in the areas of teaching, research, international diversity, and financial sustainability. In the ranking, teaching and research categories each have a weight of 40%, while international diversity and financial sustainability categories each have a weight of 10%.
With the RUR 2026 results, MAKÜ continues its quality and visibility-focused efforts in higher education by reflecting both its rise in the Turkey ranking and its development in teaching performance in international data.
