In the physical activity event, 'korfbol' was introduced this week.

Within the scope of 'Physical Activity Awareness Days' organized by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Sports Sciences, this week's physical activity was 'korfball'. 

 

The korfball event held at the MAKÜ Indoor Sports Hall was conducted by Lecturer Dr. Mine Ömercioğlu and Lecturer Nida Nur Ekici. Ömercioğlu and Ekici both introduced the korfball branch and provided students with an enjoyable experience. Students who greatly enjoyed the event expressed their requests for the establishment of a korfball school team.

 

As part of the ACTIVE CAMPUS initiative launched by the MAKÜ Faculty of Sports Sciences, these events, which aim to create awareness of physical activity and will continue throughout the year, will take place every week.

 

What is korfball?

Korfball is the only team sport played by men and women together. Although the game is similar to basketball and handball, it is distinguished by its unique features. The aim of the game is to throw the ball into the opponent's korf, a basket-like high hoop. Korfball is a sport that can be played by men and women of all ages.
