The 'Athlete Performance Evaluation Trainings' organized by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences for students were completed with high participation and success. With these special trainings, which have the quality of a certificate program, students were provided with the ability to learn and apply athlete performance tests both theoretically and practically.
The trainings, held twice each academic term and attracting great interest from students, were conducted at the MAKÜ İstiklal Stadium and the Performance Measurement Laboratory within the Faculty of Sports Sciences. Participants had the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in many topics related to performance analysis, such as anthropometric measurements, muscle strength and flexibility tests, anaerobic-aerobic endurance measurements, reaction and coordination tests, balance and speed-agility tests.
The coordination of the trainings was undertaken by Lecturer Dr. Raziye Erkan Özalp, while Lecturer Dr. Nida Nur Ekici, Lecturer İsmail Çalık, and Lecturer Dr. Emirhan Pehlivan also contributed to the program. Students evaluated through theoretical and practical exams at the end of the program were entitled to receive a certificate if they were successful.
The certificates were presented to the students at a ceremony organized by the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Prof. Dr. Emrah Atay, Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Oğuzhan Dalkıran, and the academic staff.
These trainings, which provide significant contributions to the professional development of both undergraduate and graduate students, also offer an important advantage in academic and professional life after graduation. MAKÜ Faculty of Sports Sciences plans to continue such programs, which focus on practical training, in the upcoming terms.
