MAKU, Rising in the Webometrics World University Rankings Too

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKU) achieved a significant success by rising 104 ranks compared to the previous year in the 2024 Webometrics World University Rankings. Among approximately 30,000 universities worldwide, MAKU ranked 2545th, demonstrating its success in being within the top 10%.

 

The Webometrics ranking evaluates universities under headings such as visibility, transparency, and excellence. According to this ranking, MAKU ranks 938th among 16,591 universities in Asia, 882nd among 5,987 universities in Europe, and 77th among 209 universities in Turkey. In addition, it ranked 170th among 4425 universities in the CIVETS countries (Colombia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt, Turkey, and South Africa).

 

The main aim of Webometrics is to encourage open access to the information produced by universities. Evaluation criteria include the number of web pages of universities, the ratio of external links to the university site, the number of files on the site, the most cited researchers, and the most cited publications.

 

This success is an indicator of MAKU's increasing visibility and academic excellence worldwide.
