The "Social Service Days with Groups 2026" organized within Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) brought together academics, social service specialists, and students under the same roof. The event, held with the theme "The Circle of Stories: Different Stories Meeting in the Same Circle," took place on May 8-9 at the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences.
The organization aimed to draw attention to group social service practices, one of the main application areas of the social service profession in Turkey, where participants were involved in both theoretical and practical training processes.
The program opened with speeches by Prof. Dr. Melek Zubaroğlu Yanardağ and Prof. Dr. Umut Yanardağ. In the panel held on the first day, academics from different universities shared their field experiences and current approaches with the participants. The panel featured speakers Aliye Mavili, Seda Attepe Özden, Ahmet Ege, and Umut Yanardağ.
As part of the event, experiential workshops were conducted in the social service group work class, application classes, and virtual reality and artificial intelligence laboratories. In the workshops organized with expert names, participants had the opportunity to experience group processes practically.
The "Social Service Days with Groups 2026," aimed at strengthening knowledge sharing and professional solidarity in the field of social service, concluded after the final sessions held on May 9.
