In the ÜNİLİG Yeşilay Wrestling Turkey Championship held in Burdur, the team that reached the top in the women's category was Bartın University; with this success, they earned the right to participate in the World Championship in Brazil.
In the ÜNİLİG Yeşilay Wrestling Turkey Championship held in Burdur, Bartın University became the owner of the peak in the women's category. The organization, hosted by Mehmet Akif Ersoy University between March 28 – April 1, 2026, witnessed the excitement of wrestling between universities.
After the women's competitions held on the third day of the championship, the teams that ranked were determined. While 10 athletes competing in different weight categories won gold medals, Bartın University achieved first place in the team ranking. Yalova University took second place, while Siirt University completed the organization in third place.
Medals and trophies were presented to the successful athletes in a ceremony.
Ömer Akyüz, a Faculty Member of Bartın University Faculty of Sport Sciences, emphasized in his statement regarding the success achieved that the university has now become an important brand in wrestling. Akyüz stated that they have continued their championship streak in women in recent years and have also achieved significant rankings in men.
Akyüz expressed that their goal is to transform sporting success into a permanent brand value, and said that thanks to this championship, they have earned the right to participate in the World Championship to be held in Brazil. He stated that they will conduct an intensive training camp in the upcoming period, expressed confidence in the team consisting of national athletes, and said they want to represent Turkey in the best way possible.
