Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), as of the year 2026, is strengthening its educational ecosystem in the field of micro-credentials by making 43 new micro-credential programs accessible to students. Designed with a competency-based learning approach, these programs aim to align students more strongly with the expectations of the business world before graduation.
With the new implementation launched in 2026, 30% of the quotas for micro-credential programs opened in all units within MAKÜ are available for applications from outside the unit. This arrangement allows students to acquire interdisciplinary skills beyond their own departments and faculties.
Applications for micro-credential programs will be made through the MAKÜ Artı mobile application. In the micro-credential programs where the application deadline is February 5, 2026, program contents, schedules, application conditions, and other detailed information will be shared via the official websites of the relevant units.
One of the most striking and distinctive aspects of the programs is that at least 30% of the courses are conducted by industry stakeholders. In this way, students have the opportunity to learn current industry practices directly from expert professionals in the field, along with academic knowledge. This strong contact established with the industry transforms the micro-credential programs from being merely a theoretical gain into a practical and employment-focused structure.
Students who successfully complete these short-term, modular, and practice-oriented programs can certify their competencies with a university-approved certificate and digital badge. These achievements provide a verifiable advantage in students' resumes and digital career profiles.
With the 43 new programs opened in 2026, MAKÜ continues to position micro-credentials as a holistic competency ecosystem supporting students' academic and professional development. This approach stands out as a strong reflection of the university's educational vision focused on the skills of the future.
