Athletes coming from Europe discovered the beauties of Burdur.

The 13th European Universities Table Tennis Championship, organized by the European University Sports Association (EUSA), is being held under the coordination of the Turkish University Sports Federation (TÜSF) and hosted by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ).

 

In the championship, which will be held between September 11-16, 2025, a total delegation of 161 people, consisting of 132 athletes from 12 countries from different regions of Europe, along with technical teams and officials, has arrived in Burdur.

 

The organization was not limited to just sports competitions. A comprehensive cultural tour program was also organized for the participating students to get to know Burdur closely. The athletes, who had the opportunity to see the historical and touristic values of Burdur, experienced the city's culture and traditions. During the tour, historical structures such as Burdur Ulu Cami, Saat Kulesi, and Taş Oda were visited; shopping was done in bazaars and markets.

 

After the tour, the students expressed that they liked Burdur very much, were impressed by the historical sites, and were pleased with the interest and courtesy shown to them by the Burdur tradesmen.

 

The MAKÜ administration and TÜSF officials expressed their satisfaction with hosting such an important international organization in Burdur, emphasizing that such events contribute to the promotion of the city, its economy, and cultural interaction among young people.

 

The championship will conclude with the final matches and award ceremony to be held on September 16.
