MAKÜ is preparing for the European Universities Table Tennis Championship

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) is preparing to host the European Universities Table Tennis Championship, organized by the European University Sports Association (EUSA), between September 11-16, 2025.

An important meeting was held in the MAKÜ Board Meeting Room to evaluate the preparation process before the championship and to clarify the details of the organization. The meeting was chaired by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, and attended by the Secretary General, department heads, Sports Facilities management, Lavanta Tepesi Hotel management, KİMER Director, and representatives of relevant units.

During the meeting, topics such as live broadcasts during the championship, management of social media content, hotel accommodation planning, arrangement of the tournament hall, and event organizations such as museum, market, and cave tours to introduce Burdur's cultural values to foreign athletes were discussed.

Miha Zivan from the EUSA organizing committee and EUSA Table Tennis Technical Delegate Marcin Fidala had previously visited MAKÜ, conducted inspections in the areas where the championship will be held, and received information about the preparation process.

This tournament is of great importance not only for the university but also for the international promotion of Burdur. With the participation of athletes and delegations from different countries, the unifying power of sports will come to life in Burdur.
