I find this success very valuable.”

International Success from the Students of Burdur, the Capital of Folklore

Rector Dalgar, who praised the students' international achievements with words of praise, congratulated the students and expressed his happiness for their contributions to Burdur's cultural heritage.

In his speech, Rector Dalgar said; “You are studying in a very beautiful and valuable department and you are doing justice to this department. With the success you have achieved, you have made us proud. Thanks to your achievements, I proudly mention the name of Burdur at every opportunity. When a new governor or bureaucrat arrives, Burdur is referred to as ‘The land of roses, lakes, and hearts, the capital of the Teke Region, the center of folklore culture.’ The success achieved by the students of this beautiful city's university in the International Folk Dances category crowns Burdur's title as the capital of folklore. I find this success very valuable.”

Micro Credential Programs and Future Vision

Providing information about the new micro credential programs that MAKÜ will offer to students, Dalgar stated that these programs will enable students to have broader job opportunities in the future. Dalgar said, "There is no field where artificial intelligence has not entered. Maybe in the future, you will produce dance videos with artificial intelligence and develop projects in these areas. By developing yourself in different fields, you can build a stronger career," he said.

“True Humanity Begins by Asking ‘What Can I Do in This Situation?’”

Dalgar, at the end of his speech, also touched on the subject of art and happiness and stated that happiness is different from pleasure: "Society values art and artists; artists, as individuals who stand out with their art, work, and skills, influence society. Therefore, what they say is respected. Being sensitive to art and artists is not only an individual but also a societal responsibility. Unfortunately, we do not live in a fair world and we are going through a difficult period. However, these difficulties should not cause us to lose our most important feelings that make us human.

True humanity begins by asking ‘What can I do in this situation?’ Instead of just seeking our own happiness, we should also share in the happiness of others. Daily pleasures, such as eating good food or tasting different flavors, offer short-term happiness. However, true happiness is lasting and deepens by benefiting others.

People engaged in art and sports are respectful and harmless individuals to society. Therefore, it is good to focus on works that will benefit both yourself and society. The way to find true happiness and contribute to society passes through here. Therefore, I wish you to be successful artists who are beneficial to the country and nation, doing the right things for the world we live in. I wish you all success.”

International Festival Project Proposal

Rector Dalgar also shared the proposal to organize an international folk dance festival to enrich the cultural life of Burdur. "We have students from 39 different countries at our university. Organizing a festival where these students can showcase their own cultures will contribute to the socialization and cultural richness of Burdur," he said.
