Visit to Kosovo from MAKU: Significant Contacts at Diplomatic and Academic Level

Rector Dalgar Visited Mr. Tunç Angılı, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Pristina

 

Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, first visited Tunç Angılı, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Pristina, within the scope of his visit to Kosovo. During the meeting, Ambassador Angılı was informed about our university and the livestock projects carried out at our university, as well as the studies and projects we want to carry out in Kosovo.

 

Ambassador Angılı, expressing his satisfaction with this meaningful visit by MAKÜ to Kosovo, emphasized the importance of the cooperation between our university and Kosovo, which is the homeland of Mehmet Akif Ersoy's father. In addition, he made evaluations about the studies our university can do in Kosovo, stating that these collaborations will provide significant contributions for both sides.

Rector Dalgar Held Meetings with the Minister of Regional Development and the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of Kosovo

 

Our University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar made important contacts during his visit to Kosovo. Firstly, he visited Fikrim Damka, the Chairman of the Democratic Turkish Party of Kosovo and the Minister of Regional Development, at the party building in Prizren. In the meeting, Rector Dalgar provided detailed information to Minister Damka about the projects and certification studies conducted in the field of agriculture and livestock at our university. Minister Damka, stating that Kosovo is a country that imports meat, emphasized the importance of joint projects that can be carried out with MAKU in the field of livestock. He also expressed the importance of bringing together MAKU experts and relevant institutions in Kosovo to evaluate cooperation opportunities.

 

Within the framework of his contacts in Kosovo, Rector Dalgar also met with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, Faton Peçi. He provided information to Minister Peçi about various projects, especially the certification of livestock enterprises and embryo transfer studies conducted at our university. During the meeting, evaluations were made on the studies that can be carried out in the field of livestock in Kosovo. Rector Dalgar invited Minister Peçi and his delegation to Burdur to see the works of our university on site. Minister Peçi stated that the studies conducted in the field of livestock at MAKU could be important in improving Kosovo's livestock and expressed that he would send a delegation from his ministry to our university to evaluate bilateral cooperation opportunities. Minister Peçi, who thanked Rector Dalgar for his invitation, expressed his satisfaction with the meeting.

MAKU Develops Bilateral Collaborations with Higher Education Institutions in Kosovo

 

Our University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar and Vice Rector and Acting Coordinator of International Relations Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, visited the University of Pristina as part of their visit to Kosovo. During the visit, they exchanged views with the Vice Rector of the University of Pristina, Prof. Dr. Sefer Avdiaj, about possible joint studies and exchange projects between the two universities. Following this productive meeting, a bilateral cooperation agreement was signed between our university and the University of Pristina.

 

During their contacts in Kosovo, Rector Dalgar and his delegation also met with the Rector of the University of Prizren "Ukshin Hoti", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mentor Alishani and Vice Rector Serdan Kervan. During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on increasing cooperation efforts between the two universities, student and faculty exchanges, and the implementation of joint projects.

Rector Dalgar Invites International Students from Mamusha to MAKU

 

Rector Dalgar, during his contacts in Kosovo, visited Mr. Abdulhadi Krasnic, the Mayor of Mamusha, in his office. In the meeting, which took place in a friendly atmosphere, discussions were held about possible cooperation between our university and the Municipality of Mamusha. Rector Dalgar, stating that they will host the students in the best way if the young people from Mamusha prefer MAKU for their university education, expressed that joint studies can be carried out with the Municipality of Mamusha in the field of agriculture and livestock.

Rector Dalgar Attended the Memorial Ceremony Held in Pristina on the 635th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Murat Hüdavendigar

 

Our University Rector Hüseyin Dalgar attended the memorial ceremony organized by Bursa Osmangazi Municipality on July 6, 2024, at the grave near the capital of Kosovo, Pristina, where the internal organs of Murat Hüdavendigar, the only sultan of the Ottoman Empire who was martyred on the battlefield and known as the Conqueror of the Balkans, are buried on the 635th anniversary of his martyrdom. In addition to our University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, Fikrim Damka, the Chairman of the Kosovo Democratic Turkish Party and the Minister of Regional Development, Tunç Angılı, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Pristina, Erkan Aydın, the Mayor of Osmangazi, Fulya Aslan, the TİKA Coordinator, Kosovo deputies Dr. Enis Kervan and Fidan Brina Jilta, Deputy Mayor of Obiliç İbuş Myekiçi, Mayor of Mamuşa Abdülhadi Krasniç, President of the Meşhed-i Hüdavendigâr Association Muhammed Ali Yıldırım and many guests from Turkey, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina attended the Murad Hüdavendigar Memorial Ceremony. The ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran, and the prayer made by Murad Hüdavendigar before he was martyred on the battlefield was read in Turkish and Albanian. 

 

At the ceremony, Sabri Tunç Angılı, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Pristina, thanked the Osmangazi Municipality for making the Sultan 1. Murad Hüdavendigar memorial ceremony a traditional event, saying, “Sultan Murad Hüdavendigar is a hero of a very important turning point in history who deserves such a commemoration and meeting. He enabled the Ottoman Empire, which was established in Bursa, to transform into an empire. I remember Sultan Murad Han, who is very important for the Balkans and Rumelia, which form the backbone of the Ottoman Empire, with mercy and gratitude on the anniversary of his martyrdom.”

After the protocol speeches, the memorial ceremony continued with a visit to the tomb. After the ceremony, Rector Dalgar visited Türbeder Saniye Nine and had a chat with her.

These visits have once again demonstrated our university's commitment to strengthening international collaborations and increasing academic exchange programs. MAKU, by embracing the legacy of Mehmet Akif Ersoy and increasing collaborations internationally, continues to take significant steps in academic and cultural terms. With the signed cooperation agreements, our university continues to increase its impact at the international level in the fields of education, research, and societal contribution.
