MAKU Folk Dance Team, Ready for 29th Danube Fest

The Folk Dance Team of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University visited Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar before participating in the Danube Fest, which will be held in Hungary between June 8-15, 2024. 

 

At the visit held in the Rectorate Senate Room, Secretary General Ümit Yavuz, Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alparslan, and Assoc. Dr. Zeynel Turan, Head of the Turkish Folk Dances Department of the State Conservatory of Turkish Music, and Nurgül Mıhladız, Lecturer at the State Conservatory of Turkish Music, were present. 

 

A New Era Will Begin in Burdur Folklore 

 

Rector Dalgar wished success to the team of 35 people, stating that if they return with a championship, they will increase not only the recognition of the university, but also Burdur, the capital of the Teke Region.

 

Emphasizing that the success to be achieved will make significant contributions to Burdur folklore, Rector Dalgar said, “I think you have undertaken a very important mission in terms of promoting the folklore culture of both our region and our country. I believe that the success you will achieve in the folk dance competition is very valuable not only for Mehmet Akif Ersoy University but also for Burdur. I think a new era will begin with the success you will achieve.”

 

The members of the folk dance team thanked Rector Dalgar for his financial and moral support. The MAKU Folk Dance Team, which aims to return from the Danube Fest with a championship, will set off with great excitement to promote the cultural values of Burdur on the international stage.
