Nursing Week Meaningful Activities from MAKU

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Health Sciences emphasized the importance of the nursing profession once again with the Nursing Week Activities organized between 12-18 May. The opening ceremony held at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Conference Hall began with a minute of silence and the national anthem. The program, focusing on the importance and value of the nursing profession, started with a minute of silence and the national anthem at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Conference Hall. Then, a music recital was performed by the MAKÜ Music Culture Application and Research Center.

 

The event continued with a music recital presented by the MAKÜ Music Culture Application and Research Center. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevin Uslu, Head of the Nursing Department, stated in her opening speech that nursing is a humane and sacred duty, emphasizing that the pandemic process has further increased the value of nurses. Dr. Uslu expressed that they aim to create a sustainable healthcare system with the vision of "Our future nurses."

 

During the conference series to be held throughout the Nursing Week, Dr. Mustafa Belli from MAKÜ presented on the theme '2024 ICN', Prof. Dr. Ayşegül İşler from Akdeniz University presented on 'Silent Resignation in Nurses and Its Impact on Health Economics', and Prof. Dr. Kadriye Buldukoğlu presented on the 'Science Art Dilemma in Nursing'. The program, which continued with students' music recital and quiz, provided both educational and entertaining moments.

 

Throughout the Nursing Week activities, graduates of the nursing department at MAKÜ, including academic and clinical nurses, will share their experiences. The National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) and the Child Monitoring Center will provide information on the roles and responsibilities in nursing. Turkish Nurses Association (THD) executives will also share their presentations on how to change care behaviors and overcome obstacles. In addition, within the scope of the event, THD General Secretary Merve Erdoğan Erdener, Izmir Branch President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Melek Benligül, and Board Member Dr. Nurse Mücella Arı will also participate with their presentations.
