Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar's March 12 Message

Today, we are celebrating the anniversary of the acceptance of our National Anthem, which is one of the symbols of our nation's struggle for independence and freedom. This unique work, penned by our great poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy in 1921, which strongly expresses the spirit and determination of our national struggle, symbolizes the passion for independence and love for the homeland of the Turkish Nation under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The National Anthem reflects not only the hardships and struggles of the past, but also our hopes and goals for the future. On this special day, I want to renew our determination to continue working for brighter tomorrows in unity and solidarity, and to continue our collective struggle to move our country forward.

On this meaningful day, I commemorate with respect and gratitude all our martyrs and veterans who sacrificed their lives for our independence and freedom, especially Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the author of our National Anthem, who made these lands our homeland. Their sacrifices always inspire us and leave a valuable legacy that we need to pass on to future generations.
