Our Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar's Message for August 30 Victory Day

We celebrate the 104th anniversary of August 30 Victory Day, where our nation declared its love for “freedom and independence” to the world with one of the brightest victories in history, with great enthusiasm, pride, and gratitude.

Our nation, which inscribed the words “Çanakkale is impassable” in world history in 1915, also announced the will of “Turkey is impassable” to the whole world in August 1922. 

The Great Offensive, which began on August 26, 1922, at Kocatepe, was crowned with a decisive victory at Dumlupınar on August 30; this march illuminated the horizon of the homeland completely by reaching the liberation of İzmir on September 9, 1922.

With these thoughts, I respectfully commemorate the commander-in-chief of the Great Victory, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and his comrades-in-arms, I pray for mercy from the Almighty Allah for our martyrs, who are the eternal guardians of our independence, and I remember our veterans with gratitude.
