Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Science and Letters Department of Physics continues to strengthen international academic collaborations with scientific events. In this context, the seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. Jameel Un-Nabi, the Rector of Wah University, as a guest speaker.
The seminar held in the Faculty of Science and Letters Conference Hall attracted interest from faculty members, researchers, and students.
In his presentation titled “The Role of Excited State GT Distributions in the Removal of Pauli Blocking at Finite Temperatures in Neutron-Rich N = 50 Isotopes,” Prof. Dr. Jameel Un-Nabi shared his current research in the field of nuclear astrophysics with the participants.
The presentation discussed the behavior of Gamow-Teller transitions under high-temperature conditions and the role of excited states in the removal of Pauli blocking. The scientific importance of understanding these processes, particularly in relation to electron capture reactions occurring during the collapse of massive stars, was emphasized.
In addition to academic knowledge sharing, a question-and-answer session was also held for students and researchers, concluding the seminar with answers to the participants' questions regarding the topic.
At the end of the program, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Prof. Dr. Jameel Un-Nabi by the Department of Physics of the Faculty of Science and Letters of MAKÜ for his contributions to the seminar.
Collaboration between MAKÜ and Pakistan Wah University
During Prof. Dr. Jameel Un-Nabi’s visit to MAKÜ, an important step was also taken towards the development of academic relations between the two universities. A bilateral cooperation agreement was signed between Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University and Pakistan Wah University.
With the agreement signed between Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy and Rector of Pakistan Wah University Prof. Dr. Jameel Un-Nabi, it is aimed to carry out joint research activities between the two universities, increase the sharing of academic knowledge and experience, and develop opportunities for academic exchange.
