Appreciation for qualified publications at MAKÜ

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) organized a ceremony for academics who publish in Q1 and Q2 categories in international indexes, in line with its approach prioritizing academic quality. In the program, certificates of appreciation were presented to academics contributing to qualified scientific production.

Emphasis on the rise in scientific production

Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that the university has gained significant momentum in scientific production in recent years. Rector Dalgar, expressing that MAKÜ has reached a structure producing qualified work at an international level by completing its institutionalization process within the 20 years since its establishment, noted that academic quality is one of the main priorities.

Notable increase in Q1 and Q2 publications

Rector Dalgar stated that due to MAKÜ achieving approximately a 50% increase in its publications in the Q1 and Q2 categories in the Web of Science and Scopus databases by 2025, it has enabled the university to rise to first place in Turkey among universities without a medical faculty in terms of increasing the number of publications, and to the top 5 among all state universities. "This success is the result of effort, patience, and determination spread over many years," he said.

Strong support for the research ecosystem

Rector Dalgar stated that the BAP budget has been increased sevenfold in the last two years to support scientific research and that new support mechanisms aimed at strengthening international collaborations have been implemented.

Academic success as an institutional priority

Rector Dalgar emphasized that workplace harmony and team spirit at the university support scientific production, stating that qualified publications increase the academic visibility of the university.

The program concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to academics publishing in the Q1 and Q2 categories.
