Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) continues to bring students together with current topics in the world of science and technology. In the latest event organized as part of the university's "MAKÜ BEST" conference series, researcher-author Taşkın Koçak, known for his work in the field of artificial intelligence, met with students. The conference titled "Is a Diploma Alone Sufficient in the Age of Artificial Intelligence?" was held with intense participation and great interest.
Speaking at the event, Taşkın Koçak pointed out that artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing the skills individuals need to have in a rapidly developing world. Emphasizing that the traditional understanding of education is in transformation, Koçak stated that merely having a diploma is no longer sufficient on its own. Highlighting the importance of competencies such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and continuous learning to students, Koçak noted that individuals who can use artificial intelligence correctly will be more advantageous in the future.
Throughout the conference, the effects of artificial intelligence on the business world, the transformation of professions, and newly emerging career fields were also discussed. Koçak emphasized that students should develop themselves not only with academic knowledge but also with digital skills and interdisciplinary competencies. He also underlined that artificial intelligence is not a threat but a tool that offers great opportunities when used correctly.
At the end of the program, students had the opportunity to have a one-on-one conversation with Taşkın Koçak. Participants directly asked their curious questions and received information about both career planning and current developments in artificial intelligence.
