Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University participated in the Turkish Universities Promotion Fair organized by EKET Fuarcılık in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. In addition to MAKÜ, universities from Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus participated in the fair, which was organized to promote our country's universities, increase student mobility, and enhance new academic collaborations. Representing MAKÜ at the fair were Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, Rector's Advisor Prof. Dr. Dursun Köse, and International Relations Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ömer Gürkan Dilek. At the MAKÜ stand, visited by T.C. Bishkek Embassy Trade Counselor Hüseyin Koç, Kyrgyz students, student parents, educational consultants operating in Kyrgyzstan, teachers, and academicians showed great interest in the university's quality undergraduate and graduate education opportunities and had the chance to meet directly with university representatives.
Within the scope of their contacts in Kyrgyzstan, the MAKÜ delegation visited Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kamalbek Karımşakov, International Relations Director Dr. Kadri Ağgün, and Foreign Languages School faculty member Dr. Kadir Yoğurtçu. During the visit, discussions were held on the Orhun Exchange Program, which is a student and faculty exchange program among the member higher education institutions of the Turkish Universities Union, whose secretariat is conducted by Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University and of which our university is also a member, and on strengthening bilateral cooperation between universities.
It is considered that the contacts, which will provide significant gains in line with MAKÜ's goals of expanding its international academic networks and increasing its visibility on a global scale, will contribute to strengthening the recognition of our university in Kyrgyzstan and increasing academic collaborations.
