Significant increase in accreditation and new programs

Rector Dalgar reminded that MAKÜ is among the universities that have been entitled to full institutional accreditation for 5 years in a short time and said that program accreditations have also been rapidly increased.

Rector Dalgar stated that the budget allocated to scientific research projects has been increased 5 times in the last two years, and a 50 percent increase has been achieved in the number of projects.

Referring to international publication performance, Rector Dalgar stated that according to Web of Science and Scopus data, the university is the first in Turkey among universities without a medical faculty. He said that in the general ranking, which includes all universities, they are among the top 5 in Turkey.

Internationalization and TEKNOKENT are growing

Rector Dalgar stated that 1,520 international students from 40 different countries are studying at the university and that efforts are ongoing to increase this number.

Rector Dalgar stated that significant developments have also occurred on the TEKNOKENT side, with a new building of 2023 square meters added, and revenues increased from 681 thousand TL to 3 million TL in two years.

Agriculture, livestock, and sports are prominent areas

Rector Dalgar stated that MAKÜ's development vision is based on two main axes, which are agriculture-livestock and sports.

Rector Dalgar announced that the HAYTEKFEST event, aimed at agriculture and livestock technologies, will be held after the holiday, and in the field of sports, they have succeeded in spreading sports tourism throughout the year with camp centers and organizations.

Medical faculty focused on sports medicine

Rector Dalgar stated that the newly established medical faculty is structured with a focus on sports medicine rather than a classical model, and they aim to establish a center where professional teams from different countries can receive services in areas such as athlete health, performance analysis, and sports psychology.

Emphasis on MAKÜ from the Journalists Association

Kürşat Tuncel, who spoke at the program, reminded that the idea of establishing a university in Burdur dates back to the 1990s and said that the dream came true in 2006.
