A special program for Akif from MAKÜ Turkish Music State Conservatory

As part of the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Week events, the theatrical folk dance performance prepared by the academics and students of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Turkish Music State Conservatory received great appreciation from the audience.
The program, held at the MAKÜ Conference and Exhibition Hall and consisting of two parts, was realized with the intense participation of art lovers. In the first part of the program, the first composed version of the National Anthem and musical works composed from Mehmet Akif Ersoy's work Safahat were performed. Accompanied by words and melodies reflecting the spirit of the national struggle, the audience witnessed the emotional world of the period.
In the second part of the night, the epic dance narrative titled “Korkma” was staged. This special work, centered on the historical process in which the National Anthem was written, was brought to the stage through the language of body, music, and movement, inspired by the inner world of Mehmet Akif Ersoy. The narrative-based performance received prolonged applause from the audience.
In the first part of the program, the choir consisting of students from the Turkish Music Department of the Turkish Music State Conservatory delivered a successful performance under the direction of faculty member Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Gülay Laçin. The scriptwriting and choreography of the show were prepared by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynel Turan and Lecturer Uğur Bulut.
At the end of the program, which took place with intense participation, MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar presented certificates of appreciation to Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Gülay Laçin, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynel Turan, and Lecturer Uğur Bulut for their contributions.
