Poster exhibition special for Âkif Commemoration Week opened for visit at MAKÜ

Students presented their poster works, which they prepared based on Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s Safahat and primarily his poems, writings, and slices of his life, to art enthusiasts.

The exhibition, consisting of a total of 26 works, was opened at MAKÜ Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank Library. The exhibition can be visited throughout the week.

The foundation of the works in the exhibition is based on an academic and artistic process initiated in the spring term of last year. The students, who were in the 3rd grade at that time and are now continuing their education in the 4th grade, conducted a comprehensive research by deeply examining the works and life of Mehmet Akif Ersoy. As a result of the readings and analyses, the students aimed to convey the impressions and emotions they gained from Akif’s world of thought to the target audience through poster designs.

The resulting posters provided an artistic contribution to Mehmet Akif Ersoy Week by reflecting both the transformation of a literary heritage into a visual language and the interpretive power of young designers.
