National recognition for MAKÜ in the field of Digital Transformation in Agriculture

The 'Artificial Intelligence Supported Digital Transformation Workshop in the Agriculture and Forestry Sector', organized within the scope of the 'Turkey Climate Smart and Competitive Agricultural Growth Project (TUCSAP)' conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry General Directorate of Agricultural Reform with World Bank financing, started with the opening program on October 23, 2025, at Ankara Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Thank You Plaque to Our Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar
During the opening ceremony, a thank you plaque was presented to Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar for his visionary contributions to technological transformation and digitalization processes in agriculture.
The workshop aims to prepare the 'Artificial Intelligence Action Plan in the Agriculture and Forestry Sector' with group studies to be conducted in five main axes: plant production, animal husbandry (including aquaculture), rural development, forestry, and water management.
Representing our university, Prof. Dr. Özgecan Korkmaz, Prof. Dr. İsmail Kırbaş, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlker Ünal, and Dr. Lecturer Ömer Çatal will participate in the workshop, which will last for two days, and share our university's projects on smart agriculture technologies, artificial intelligence-supported data analytics, sensor-based production systems, and digital decision support platforms. In the sessions to be held on the second day of the event, the proposals resulting from the group studies will be evaluated, and a roadmap for digital transformation in the agriculture and forestry sector will be created.
The plaque presented to Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar is an indication of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University's pioneering role in the field of digitalization and artificial intelligence integration in agriculture, food, and forestry technologies.
