MAKÜ is preparing for the new term with sports, agriculture, and art events.

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar met with national and local press members working in Burdur to provide information about the new academic year and the university's upcoming important organizations.
During the meeting, the European Universities Table Tennis Championship to be held between September 11-16, the Agriculture, Livestock and Food Technologies Festival (HAYTEKFEST) to be held on October 16-18, and the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Commemoration Program to be held on December 20-27 were introduced.
International vision in sports tourism
Prof. Dr. Dalgar stated that MAKÜ is also attracting attention internationally with its “365 days of sports, 12 months of sports tourism” approach:
“Antalyaspor, Şanlıurfaspor, Super League teams from Cyprus, and teams from Qatar and Saudi Arabia preferred our facilities. We expect camp tourism to grow even more in the coming years.” he said.
European Universities Table Tennis Championship in Burdur
Rector Dalgar stated that with the European Universities Table Tennis Championship, over 120 athletes, coaches, and referees from 13 different countries will be hosted in Burdur, “We will have approximately 200 guests in total. The opening ceremony will be held on Thursday evening, September 12, at 20:30, and we will present a visual feast that rivals Olympic ceremonies” he said.
Agriculture and technology will meet at HAYTEKFEST
Rector Dalgar emphasized that HAYTEKFEST, introduced as the university's second major organization, is the first and only thematic festival in Turkey that brings together those developing projects in the fields of agriculture, livestock, and food technologies, “This year, we were among the partner universities of TEKNOFEST. 91 projects applied from across the country, 47 made it to the finals. The best three projects will be supported with cash prizes. Our aim is to facilitate young engineers and entrepreneurs in bringing their projects to the sector” he said.
Mehmet Akif Ersoy Commemoration Week will be held on a national scale
Prof. Dr. Dalgar stated that they will transform the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Commemoration Program, to be held in the week of December 20-27, into a comprehensive organization under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, “We planned this program in a format similar to the Mevlana, Hacı Bektaş, and Ahi Evran commemoration events. TRT artists, the Presidential Symphony Orchestra, and many valuable names will participate.” he said.
Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar emphasized that the university is not only an educational institution but also a meeting point for sports, technology, culture, and art, and invited all Burdur residents to these events.
