At MAKÜ, 16 students from 14 countries are discovering Turkish and Turkish culture.

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), within the scope of the protocol signed with Yunus Emre Institute, is hosting 16 students from 14 different countries as part of the Turkish Summer School program. In addition to learning Turkish, students are having an unforgettable summer period with rich cultural activities.
The program is conducted under the coordination of MAKÜ Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER) Director Dr. Lecturer Emine Güler. Participants have the opportunity to get to know Burdur closely in a wide range from its history to geography, lifestyle to its people.
As part of the activities, students also participated in the Turkish cuisine introduction program organized by MAKÜ Faculty of Tourism Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department. In the event led by Assoc. Dr. Olcay Kılıç, participants were introduced to traditional Turkish flavors. Students who experienced different tastes also tried and tasted aşure, one of the important flavors of Turkish cuisine. The students expressed their admiration for Turkish cuisine and had enjoyable moments.
At the end of the Turkish Summer School, which will continue until July 31, the students will return to their countries as volunteer ambassadors representing Turkey, carrying both the Turkish language and Turkey's cultural values.
