MAKÜ hosted social service specialists from Germany

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) hosted academics and graduate students from the Faculty of Social Work at Landshut University in Germany. As part of the two-day program, the delegation that came to Burdur examined the university's work in the field of social work on-site.

 

The visiting delegation from Landshut University, consisting of Prof. Dr. Monique Ritter, Prof. Dr. Mihri Özdoğan, and social work department students, participated in many academic and field-based activities throughout the visit. On the first day of the program, conducted under the guidance of MAKÜ Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Social Work Department faculty members Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Yanardağ and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melek Zubaroğlu Yanardağ, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umut Yanardağ gave a seminar on "The History of the Social Work Profession in Turkey."

 

The delegation also met with MAKÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy to receive detailed information about the university's projects and work in the field of social work. The guests, who visited the social work laboratories located on the university campus, participated in various events organized there and received information about virtual reality applications and case-based learning programs.

 

As part of the program, visits were also made to the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services in the city center of Burdur and institutions operating in the field of social work. The German guests expressed that this visit, where they had the opportunity to observe social work practices in Turkey on-site, was very productive for them.
