“The productivity of the youth is the foundation of the national technology initiative”
In his opening speech at the workshop, Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uyumaz expressed his pleasure in hosting TEKNOFEST communities from different universities at MAKÜ, emphasizing that the event is not just a platform for exchanging ideas but also an important step to reveal the innovative potential of the youth. Uyumaz stated, “Thanks to this workshop, our students will become part of not only the communities but also the technology vision of our country. We will continue to support projects that contribute to local and national production.”
Rector Dalgar: “TEKNOFEST allows us to look to the future with hope”
Speaking at the program, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that TEKNOFEST is not just a technology event but also a strategic vision reflecting the dynamism and desire to produce of the youth. Dalgar noted that they feel a special commitment to this organization as Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the TEKNOFEST Board, is also an honorary doctor of MAKÜ.
Rector Dalgar drew attention to agriculture and food technologies, announcing that the university is one of the few in Turkey to open the ‘Precision Agriculture and Agricultural Robots’ department, which will start admitting students this year. He also stated that they are leading studies in the field of digital agriculture technologies.
“We are ready to stand behind every project”
Rector Dalgar stated that as a university, they are ready to offer support to students in every field, “We offer special support for projects prepared for TEKNOFEST. As long as our students come with their projects, we will mobilize all the resources of the university.” The Mikroalg-based ‘MAKÜSpirulina’ food supplement, defined as a ‘superfood’ by FAO, which is among the patented products developed by MAKÜ recently, also attracted attention.
“True happiness is possible by contributing to society”
In his speech, addressing the youth with sincere and inspiring expressions, Rector Dalgar said, “True happiness is possible by contributing to someone else's happiness. Career and money are of course important, but the main thing is to be beneficial to humanity.” He called on the youth to work and produce not just with slogans but with concrete projects.
The workshop was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, Mechanical Engineer Serdar Başgül from Burdur Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uyumaz, T3 Foundation Burdur Provincial Representative Emine Büşra Aygün, academicians, and students.
The workshop concluded with presentations
After the speeches, the workshop sessions began. Throughout two sessions, 10 different groups shared their projects and ideas with the participants. The workshop not only allowed for the sharing of knowledge and experience among student communities but also strengthened inter-university cooperation.
