Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Art and Design and Burdur Police Department jointly organized the ‘Safe Posters Exhibition’, bringing social security messages to the agenda through art.

The exhibition, first held last year at Cumhuriyet Square, took place this year at the foyer area of UNİPARK AVM. In the exhibition, 45 poster works prepared by 3rd-year students of MAKÜ Faculty of Art and Design, Visual Communication Design Department, were presented to the appreciation of art lovers and security experts.

In the posters, in line with the information and awareness efforts of Burdur Police Department; various topics such as traffic safety, the fight against drugs, and the fight against terrorism were addressed, aiming for social awareness.

Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, who visited the exhibition and examined the student works on site, emphasized the power of the messages carried by the posters and used the following expressions;

“This exhibition prepared by our Faculty of Art and Design students is not only aesthetically valuable but also very significant in terms of social responsibility. With the support of our Burdur Police Department, our students reflected the incidents they heard from our police officers into their designs. The resulting works shed light on social issues with a strong artistic language. Sometimes words can be insufficient, but these posters convey the message effectively. I congratulate our students and the faculty members guiding them.”

The opening of the exhibition was attended by MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, Rector Advisors Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alpaslan, Prof. Dr. İsmail Çelik, Acting Provincial Police Chief, academicians, and many students.

The exhibition, which will remain open throughout the week, continues to welcome all visitors who want to make an artistic touch to social security.
