Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Sports Sciences student and national weightlifter Fatma Gül Çevik achieved great success at the Junior World Weightlifting Championship held in Peru. Çevik, as the World Champion in total weight, brought great pride to both our country and MAKÜ.
MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar congratulated the national athlete in a post on his social media account, stating:
“I wholeheartedly congratulate our student Fatma Gül Çevik, who proudly waved our crescent-starred flag as the World Champion at the Junior World Weightlifting Championship held in Peru. We are proud of you, Fatma Gül.”
Rector Dalgar also emphasized that MAKÜ will continue to contribute to Turkish sports with its strong sports infrastructure, Sports-Friendly Campus applications, and qualified Faculty of Sports Sciences.
This significant achievement by Fatma Gül Çevik was met with great joy both in the MAKÜ community and in the sports world.
