Social contribution and academic productivity
“As Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, we act with an understanding that directly contributes to society, not only within academic walls,” said Rector Dalgar. “While following universal knowledge, we closely monitor scientific and technological developments by considering the needs of the local community. In this direction, we believe that academic research should provide tangible contributions to society, and we emphasize the transition from R&D to P&D. In this context, we have doubled our support for academic publications and patented products as of 2025.” He used the expressions.

Changing education understanding and micro-credentials
Touching on the subject of micro-credentials, Rector Dalgar said, “Higher education systems in the world are rapidly changing, and with the ease of access to information, university education is being questioned. To keep up with this change, we have initiated micro-credential programs that will support our students' careers. In addition to traditional diplomas, these programs, which aim to increase competencies in different fields, will enable our students to enter the business world in a more equipped manner. We offer various programs for veterinary students to gain financial literacy and for education faculty students to gain digital media management skills. In the upcoming period, each faculty and school will offer micro-credential programs specific to their field to their students.” He said.

Social responsibility and equal opportunity in education

Emphasizing that they continue their work with the thought of 'From universal knowledge to social contribution', Rector Dalgar said, “We aim for our university to stand out not only with academic achievements but also with the contributions it offers to society. In this direction, we are implementing the 'Village University' project, enabling our academics in fields such as social services, nutrition, physical therapy, sports, and theology to provide education in villages. With this project, we aim to improve the quality of life of our citizens living in rural areas.” He said.

20 thousand trees campaign in the 20th year

In this context, by launching the '20 Thousand Trees in the 20th Year' campaign, we aim to contribute to nature and emphasize the importance our university places on environmental sustainability. We invite all our academics, students, and city residents to support this project.
