The symposium, led by Ankara Social Sciences University, was also supported by Çukurova University, Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, and MAKÜ.

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, emphasized the importance of Mehmet Akif Ersoy during the National Struggle period in his opening speech at the symposium, highlighting that the First Assembly was not only a legislative body but also the center where the National Struggle was managed. Kurtulmuş said in his speech:

“The struggle for independence is the greatest indicator of the spirit of independence”

“In the difficult conditions of that day, our nation never gave up on its independence and freedom, and fought for existence amidst scarcity. Mehmet Akif Ersoy reflected the love for the homeland and the belief in independence in the strongest way. The National Anthem is not just a poem, but a cry from the heart of our nation. Mehmet Akif wrote this anthem without expecting any material reward, solely out of love for the homeland.”

"Our Veteran Assembly will continue to support our values that contribute to our national culture and literature.”

The fourth symposium will be hosted by MAKÜ

Kurtulmuş stated that the subsequent events of the symposium will be hosted respectively by Adana, Hatay, and finally Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, saying, “With the events to be held in Adana, Hatay, Burdur, and Ankara within the scope of the symposium, we aim to reach wider audiences with the life and ideas of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, and after these symposiums, the symposium will be published as a book.”
