Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) hosted the ‘KÜAD Academy at Universities’ event organized to bring qualified producers and researchers to the cosmetics sector. The event, organized by the Association of Cosmetics Producers and Researchers (KÜAD) and sponsored by Mineaderm, attracted attention with both informative conferences and a hands-on cream-making workshop.

Aiming to develop high value-added cosmetic products by prioritizing human and environmental health, KÜAD continues its efforts to strengthen university-industry collaboration. The opening speeches of the event were made by KÜAD Board Member Fuat Arslan and KÜAD Scientific Board Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göktürk Avşar. Then, MAKÜ Cosmetics Research and Application Center (KOZAM) Director Prof. Dr. Fatih Mehmet Emen presented the developments in the sector with his presentation titled ‘Cosmetics from Past to Present’. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aslıhan Cesur Turgut drew attention to the importance of natural components in the cosmetics field with her presentation on ‘Plants Used in Cosmetics’.

At the event, artists Sabri Özdemir and Yasin Akkaya provided participants with an unforgettable musical experience with local instruments sipsi and cura. One of the most exciting parts of the program was the ‘Cream Making Workshop’ attended by 40 students. In the workshop organized with the contributions of Mineaderm, students gained significant insights into the sector by experiencing the cosmetic production process firsthand.

Participants expressed great satisfaction with the event and conveyed intense demands for similar organizations to be repeated. The KÜAD and KOZAM team stated that such events would continue and thanked all supporters who contributed to the process.
