Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar said the following in her speech at the opening of the program: “First of all, may this meaningful day be happy for all of us. As MAKÜ Faculty of Education, we prepare you for life in the best way with our 60 years of teacher training experience. You will graduate with the responsibility and respect required by this special profession and will perform the most valuable job in the world as a teacher. Today, we have thousands of teachers who have graduated from our faculty and devoted themselves to their profession; we are proud of them. The teaching profession is a passion for us. Love your profession very much and be proud of yourself for dedicating yourself to this profession. I commemorate with respect and gratitude all our teachers who have passed away, especially our Head Teacher Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.”
Prof. Dr. Ali Yıldırım from Sweden's University of Gothenburg, in his speech, mentioned the globalization of the teaching profession and the importance of teacher candidates developing themselves in terms of overseas opportunities, and celebrated all teachers' Teachers' Day.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hakan Öner also expressed the following in his speech at the program:
“I celebrate the Teachers' Day of all our teachers and students. Remembering Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words ‘The Republic wants generations who are free in thought, free in conscience, and free in knowledge’ never forget how important your profession is.”
As part of the program, a music recital was organized by the students of the Department of Music Education, and an art exhibition was organized by the Department of Art Education.
This meaningful day dedicated to the teaching profession was celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride with the participation of Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hakan Öner and Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Firdevs Savi Çakar, Vice Deans Assoc. Dr. Hacer Tekerci and Assoc. Dr. Osman Erol, Prof. Dr. Ali Yıldırım from Sweden's University of Gothenburg, graduates of the Faculty of Education, academic staff, and students.
