At Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, a training titled “How to Become a More Effective Leader?” was organized for the university's senate members and administrative staff. The training, given by Prof. Dr. M. Azmi Yalçın from Çukurova University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, was held in the rectorate senate room.
In the training, the fundamental skills and qualities that an effective leader should possess were discussed in detail, starting with the differences between leadership and management. Participants were informed about how competencies critical for leadership, such as emotional intelligence, self-awareness, self-management, empathy, and social skills, provide advantages in the business world. Additionally, it was emphasized that participants could create more impact on their teams by determining their own leadership styles.
Within the scope of the presentation, the abilities of effective leaders to manage complex processes with a visionary perspective, drive change, and work in harmony with their teams were highlighted. At the end of the training, guidance was provided for administrators to discover their strengths to develop themselves and their teams, develop strategies that increase employee engagement, and create a long-term leadership vision.
With this training, administrators had the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge and tools to become more equipped on their leadership journey.
