Rector Dalgar: "We Aim to Equip Our Students with New World Skills!"

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar met with representatives and some members of the 130 student communities at the university in the Rectorate Senate Room. 

 

At the meeting attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, Rector Dalgar explained to the students the efforts made to make the campus more livable and attractive. He provided information about the ongoing construction of the pond and recreation area, as well as the walking paths and landscaping arrangements on the campus.

 

MAKÜ’s Applied Education System

Rector Dalgar emphasized the importance of social activities that allow students to develop themselves outside the campus and highlighted the advantages of the applied education programs offered by MAKÜ. Introducing the 7+1 and 6+2 education models, Dalgar stated that these systems enable students to graduate by gaining workplace experience in their final year of education, thereby increasing their chances of finding employment. He pointed out that MAKÜ is a university that supports applied education with its possession of Turkey's first 5-star hotel and extensive farm areas.

 

New World Skills at MAKÜ

During the meeting, information was also provided about the MAKÜ+ programs and the Career School system, which offer students opportunities for personal development and career guidance. Rector Dalgar mentioned that with the micro-credentials program, students can acquire skills outside their own fields. Additionally, he stated that within the scope of digitalization efforts, the "MAKÜ Bilen" chatbot application has been integrated into the university, allowing students to benefit from applications such as digital attendance and artificial intelligence.

 

Rector Dalgar touched upon Mehmet Akif Ersoy University's internationalization policy, stating that inter-university agreements have increased, they are working to attract more international students, and they value cultural interaction.
