Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) TEKNOFEST Community is hosting its visitors with the stand set up in the Avşarhan building on November 5-6-7, 2024.

Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, who visited the stand, expressed his satisfaction with the intense interest shown in the TEKNOFEST Community during his visit. Rector Dalgar said, “Our TEKNOFEST Community attracts the attention of students and academicians from different faculties, especially the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. Today, we examined the work of our students on-site. TEKNOFEST has initiated a new era in Turkey, broken stereotypes, and demonstrated the importance of working with determination and achieving results towards great goals for our nation. It is a project of strategic importance for our country and future. We can even say it is the most important brand that makes a name for itself in the field of technology in our country. As a university, we participate in TEKNOFEST competitions every year. In previous years, we also received a first prize in the field of agricultural technologies. We aim to support this interest and our achievements more strongly in the coming years, ensuring that the TEKNOFEST spirit is embraced by our students and academicians and turns into a sustainable institutional tradition.” he said.

Rector Dalgar stated that they provide support to students preparing TEKNOFEST projects from the university's Scientific Research Projects (BAP) unit and expressed his gratitude to Selçuk Bayraktar, the founder of TEKNOFEST and President of the T3 Foundation, and everyone involved. “TEKNOFEST has attracted the interest of everyone from 7 to 70 in Turkey to the technology entrepreneurship ecosystem and has especially increased children's interest in technology. As a university, we wholeheartedly support this project with our young people and share the same excitement.” he said.

National Technology Workshop Plans

Rector Dalgar stated that they have started efforts to establish a “National Technology Workshop” to bring to life opportunities that will keep the TEKNOFEST spirit alive in Burdur, applied to TÜBİTAK for this purpose, and aim to provide an infrastructure that will offer technology support to children and young people in Burdur if a positive result is obtained.

During the stand visit, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar was accompanied by Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Ali Murat Alparslan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uyumaz, while academicians and students were also among the visitors.
