Visit and Health Service to Nursing Home Residents from MAKÜ Faculty of Dentistry

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Faculty of Dentistry made a meaningful visit as part of community service. On November 4, 2024, faculty members and students who visited the Burdur Governorship Hilmi-Hafize Evin Nursing Home provided oral health services to the residents of the nursing home.

The visit took place under the leadership of the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Ali Alp Sağlam. Prof. Dr. Sağlam was accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevinç Sütlü and Dr. Lecturer Süleyman Faki. As part of the visit, 12 dentistry students conducted oral examinations for the elderly residents staying at the nursing home.

Faculty officials stated that they aim to raise awareness about oral health. In this context, it was stated that an informative event on oral care and correct brushing techniques will be organized for the nursing home residents in the coming days.

The visit and examination service were met with great satisfaction by the residents of the nursing home. MAKÜ Faculty of Dentistry thanked the management of Hilmi-Hafize Nursing Home for their hospitality.
