Special Students and MAKÜ Students Met in a Friendship Match

A meaningful friendship match was organized at MAKÜ İstiklal Stadium in collaboration with Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Disabled Student Coordination, Faculty of Sports Sciences, and Şehit Hakan Aktürk Special Education Vocational High School. This event highlighted the unifying power of sports, facilitating the integration of the two institutions and bringing students together through sports.

 

The match was filled with great enthusiasm and excitement. The encounter, where both teams competed in the spirit of fair play, ended with a 6-5 victory for Şehit Hakan Aktürk Special Education Vocational High School. Participants provided enjoyable moments for the audience with their performance in this friendship match.

 

The medal and trophy ceremony held after the match was as enthusiastic as the match itself. Athletes, receiving their medals and trophies from Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, experienced great pride. The ceremony was also attended by Faculty of Sports Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Emrah Atay, Disabled Student Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Top, Şehit Hakan Aktürk Special Education Vocational High School Principal Ahmet Akıncı, and teachers, who supported this meaningful event.

 

After the event, Disabled Student Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Top stated that following the friendship match organized by MAKÜ Disabled Student Coordination, activities for disabled students will continue. Top said, “We organized this event to increase the interest and motivation of our special needs students in sports, to make them happy, and to raise awareness in society. Additionally, we aim for our Faculty of Sports Sciences students to share their skills with our special needs students and to be role models for them. Our goal is to show society what these individuals can achieve.”
