The evaluation process for the 2023-2024 call of the International Bilateral Cooperation Project Support Program between TÜBİTAK and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has been completed.

The project titled “Determination of Intraspecific Genetic Diversity in Eriolobus trilobatus (Labill. Ex Poiret) M. Roem in Three Regions of Turkey and Its Relationships with Environmental and Edaphic Factors,” prepared under the leadership of our university's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Landscape Architecture faculty member Prof. Dr. Cengiz YÜCEDAĞ and Göttingen University faculty member Prof. Dr. Oliver GAILING, has been selected as one of the 8 projects to be supported under the mentioned International Bilateral Cooperation Project Support Program. In the project, Dr. Lecturer Nuray ÇİÇEK from Çankırı Karatekin University, Dr. Markus MULLER, and Dr. Ludger LEINEMANN from Göttingen University are participating as researchers.

With a total budget of 800,000 TL and a duration of two years, this project will investigate the genetic diversity of the Eriolobus trilobatus species, stomatal density, and certain soil characteristics in its growing area, as well as the relationships of these characteristics with environmental and edaphic factors. The data obtained will provide significant contributions to the development of strategies for the conservation and management of the species.
