"Discover Yourself with Creative Drama, Improve Your Teaching" Project Introduced

The introduction of the project “Discover Yourself with Creative Drama, Develop Your Teaching” supported by the TÜBİTAK 2237-A program and organized by Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Child Education Application and Research Center was held at Lavanta Tepesi Hotel.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, Prof. Dr. Perihan Ünüvar, Prof. Dr. Fatma Çalışandemir, Prof. Dr. Derya Arslan Özer, Lecturer Çiğdem Kabay, Center Director and Project Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Gül Dalgar, Expert Archaeologist Gül Bulut, academicians, and students attended the introduction program.
In her opening speech, Project Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Gül Dalgar explained the purpose and goals of the project. Dalgar emphasized that they aim to develop 21st-century skills and teaching skills through creative drama. She stated that they will organize various creative drama workshops to impart skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. She mentioned that academicians and students from 10 different universities supported the project and that participation was provided in various fields. Dalgar thanked everyone who contributed to the project.
Nazlı Kurt, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Education Classroom Teaching Department, provided information about the activities they organized within the scope of the project and their contributions to professional life. Kurt stated that creative drama plays an important role in the education process, saying, “Creative drama is the leading role in the story that extends from preschool to university, from student to teacher, from village to city.”
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy emphasized the great importance of the project in terms of education and teaching. Stating that they received full accreditation from YÖKAK for 5 years, Gürsoy said, “Creative drama training is very valuable in the context of our university’s applied education approach. We are a pioneering university in applied education models such as 7+1, 3+1, and 6+2 in Turkey. Additionally, MAKRO and MİKRO competencies are also among our main agendas. Such training provides advantages to our graduates in their professional lives and contributes to their careers. I thank the project team and trainers,” he said.
Following the speeches, participation certificates were presented to the project trainers by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy and Project Coordinator Dr. Lecturer Gül Dalgar. The introduction meeting ended with a music recital presented by Music Teacher Yunus Gürkan Acar with local musical instruments and a tour of the poster exhibition.
