Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKU) Faculty of Engineering-Architecture organized a "Higher Education Quality Assurance System and Program Accreditation Conference".
The "Higher Education Quality Assurance System and Program Accreditation Conference" organized by the Faculty of Engineering-Architecture of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKU) was held in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Science and Letters. The program attracted great interest from faculty members, administrative staff, and students.
The opening speech of the program was made by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering-Architecture, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Uyumaz. In his speech, Uyumaz started by thanking Prof. Dr. Fikret Macid Suner, a faculty member of ITU and an evaluator of YÖKAK, for his participation in the conference, and also gave brief information about the faculty.
Prof. Dr. Uyumaz summarized the structure and functioning of the faculty as follows: "Our faculty continues its educational activities actively with 9 departments, 70 faculty members, and approximately 1450 students. Our faculty members, who act with the motto of our university from universal knowledge to societal contribution, continue their educational activities by providing societal contribution in line with the quality policy of our university with the projects they develop and work on every day."
Uyumaz stated that MAKU has been accredited by the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK) for 5 years. He added, "We are eager and excited to take our efforts to improve our educational activities with the aim of going beyond knowledge, being aware of the responsibility of higher education, one step further."
Prof. Dr. Fikret Macid Suner, a faculty member of ITU and an evaluator of YÖKAK, who made a presentation at the conference, provided detailed information on the topics of "Program Accreditation and Basic Concepts, MÜDEK Accreditation, MÜDEK Evaluation Criteria and Application Examples". Suner shared his valuable knowledge on the importance of quality assurance in higher education and how program accreditation processes should be managed.
The program ended with a question and answer session where the participants' questions were answered. In the question and answer session, participants had the opportunity to ask questions about higher education quality assurance systems and program accreditation.
