Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University achieved great success in the national arena by accrediting its quality standard. At the "YÖKAK International Quality Assurance and Accreditation Conference" attended by the university management and the Quality Coordination, MAKÜ was represented by Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, who received the 5-year accreditation certificate from the President of the Higher Education Council Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar and the President of YÖKAK Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak.
The success achieved as a reflection of the quality-oriented approach and continuous improvement efforts of the university in recent years is of great importance for universities, as emphasized by YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar in his opening speech at the conference. Özvar also stated the following details in his speech: "As a concrete result of our quality-oriented approach in higher education and our understanding of promoting accreditation processes, we shared new conditions we set last month with our universities and the public for the opening of new postgraduate programs and the continuation of existing programs. Especially the introduction of "accreditation" and "qualified publication" conditions have emerged as new and important steps. We would like to share with you that we will take new steps prioritizing quality and make regulations. With the new regulations we will implement, we aim for the components of higher education in our country to play a more effective role in our economic development and for our universities to become institutions setting global standards in education, scientific research, culture, and social responsibility areas. Quality assurance systems, like in other sectors, require continuous updates over time in the field of higher education, so it is natural to expect these systems to change over time. It is a crucial task for all parties responsible for quality to closely monitor changes in quality processes and participate in discussions."
The accreditation provided by YÖKAK covers important elements such as ensuring quality assurance, facilitating credit and degree transfer, and ensuring accountability and transparency. MAKÜ has increased its institutional reputation by providing these quality standards and has certified its quality at the national level.
Following the conference, Rector Dalgar, after the success of full accreditation, expressed that they will further elevate the university's quality standards nationally and internationally by internalizing them, and congratulated all the staff who contributed to this process for their success.
