International academic cooperation meetings in Azerbaijan from MAKÜ

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ), in line with its internationalization goals, held various meetings to develop academic cooperation with universities in Azerbaijan.
In this context, MAKÜ Rector Advisor Prof. Dr. Dursun Köse and International Relations Coordinator Prof. Dr. Ömer Gürkan Dilek conducted discussions regarding new cooperation opportunities in higher education in Azerbaijan.
The MAKÜ delegation met with Khazar University Public Relations and Media Director Alovsat Amirbeyli and also held discussions with Azerbaijan University of Languages Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Jala Ahmad Qaribova. The meetings addressed student and academic staff mobility, joint education and research activities, and scientific events.
Double diploma and exchange programs on the agenda
One of the important topics of the discussions was the development of double diploma programs between universities. There was an exchange of views on determining suitable academic programs and creating joint education models.
Additionally, the increase of student and academic staff mobility within the scope of Erasmus+ and Orhun Exchange Programs, the development of inter-institutional agreements, and the support of joint educational activities were evaluated.
The parties also exchanged views on the development of joint scientific projects, the organization of international conferences, symposiums, and workshops, and the establishment of cooperation networks among researchers.
Contribution to Turkey-Azerbaijan academic relations
It was stated that the conducted meetings are an important step in reflecting the strong relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan more in the field of higher education and in developing long-term academic partnerships between universities.
It was expressed that MAKÜ will continue its efforts to provide new education and research opportunities to its students and academic staff and to expand its international academic networks in line with its internationalization strategy.
