International Student Admission and Registration Announcement (4th-9th Placement)

The international student application, evaluation, and registration process for the 2026–2027 academic year will be carried out gradually from the 4th placement to the 9th placement according to the schedule below. In each placement period, the application, evaluation, result announcement, and payment steps will be implemented in sequence; the next placement will begin after the process of the previous period is completed.

Admission-Registration Schedule 

The results will be announced through the Student Information System on the "Evaluation" date of the relevant placement. The registrations of candidates who pay the semester tuition fee on time will be completed online. The final deadline for submitting documents for all placements is September 30, 2026.

Application Process

Applications are accepted only through the official website of the University, directly and online. No additional fees will be requested from candidates for any process other than the announced amount. It is necessary to carefully read the application guide before proceeding to the application process. Applications are conducted in 2 separate stages.

1st Stage - Payment of Application Fee

A user account is created at https://yos.mehmetakif.edu.tr.

After logging into the system, the application fee of 30 USD is paid online.

The payment amount is manually defined by the International Student Office of the Student Affairs Department of our University after membership.

Important: The application fee is non-refundable.

2nd Stage - Document Upload and Program Preference

•  - After the application fee is paid, a user profile is created at https://obs.mehmetakif.edu.tr/oibs/foa_app by selecting "Create a new account".
•  - Required documents are uploaded and program preferences (up to 5 preferences) are made.       
•                       

Required Documents for Online Application

•  - Original passport and a certified copy of the Turkish translation (Mandatory)
•  - Original high school diploma and a certified copy of the Turkish translation (Mandatory)
•  - Original high school transcript and a certified copy of the Turkish translation (Mandatory)
•  - TR-YÖS exam result document (If available)
•  - Document proving that the application fee has been paid (Mandatory)
•  - Turkish Proficiency (TÖMER) certificate (If available)

•  - Exit-entry document for candidates with Turkish citizenship (Mandatory)

   

  COUNTRY QUOTA IS APPLIED IN THE DENTISTRY PROGRAM.

  Important Points to Consider in the Application

•  - Throughout the process, communication is made through the phone/email entered by the candidate into the system; it is important to enter the information correctly and to check the email regularly.
•  - Candidates must apply primarily with their Turkish ID number if available; otherwise, applications will be made with passport information.
•  - If there is no graduation grade on the high school diploma/transcript, a separate document showing the graduation grade must be uploaded.
•  - To have the application evaluated, the approval checkbox must be marked in the last step and the "Save" button must be pressed.
•  - For applications returned to the system due to missing/errors, it is mandatory to mark the approval checkbox again and save after correction; otherwise, the application will not be considered complete.
•  - Candidates who have errors in their online application information during face-to-face registration will not be registered.

Announcement of Results and Online Registration

Application results will be announced through the Student Information System on the evaluation date of the relevant placement (obs.mehmetakif.edu.tr/oibs/foa_app). Candidates who gain the right to register will pay the semester tuition fee within the specified period by logging in at https://yos.mehmetakif.edu.tr; when the payment is made, the registration process will be completed online.

Important: The semester tuition fee paid by registered students is non-refundable.

Students who gain the right to register will receive their acceptance letters with QR codes through the Student Information System.

     What the Student Who Pays the Semester Tuition Fee Needs to Do

• 1) Submission of Student Registration File
• 2) Submission of Residence File - Obtaining Foreign Identity Number (YKN)
• 3) Start of Education
• 4) Turkish Proficiency Preparation Training (If necessary)

1. Submission of Student Registration File

The required documents for final registration must be submitted in person by the student or through a notarized representative to the Student Affairs Department by September 30, 2026.

2. Submission of Residence File - Obtaining YKN

Students who complete the registration process and submit their student file must prepare the residence application file and submit it to the International Student Office of the Rectorate Student Affairs Department within 10 business days.

3. Start of Education

To start academic education, it is mandatory to have a C1 level Turkish Proficiency Certificate (TÖMER) issued by Yunus Emre Institute or state universities. Students with a valid document complete their course registration by presenting their documents to the academic unit they are registered in.

4. Turkish Proficiency Preparation Training

The process for students who do not have a valid TÖMER certificate is as follows:

•  - Turkish Level Determination Exam: Conducted by MAKÜ TÖMER.
•  - C1 level: The student can start directly in their academic program.
•  - B2 level (conditional registration): The student starts education conditionally; they must score at C1 level in the exam to be held at the end of the 1st year.
•  - Those who fail the exam: Enrolled in MAKÜ TÖMER Turkish Preparation Class and cannot start academic education directly.
