Appreciation for qualified publications at MAKÜ

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) organized a ceremony for academics who publish in Q1 and Q2 categories in international indexes, in line with its approach prioritizing academic quality. In the program, certificates of appreciation were presented to academics contributing to qualified scientific production.

Emphasis on the rise in scientific production

Speaking at the ceremony, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated that the university has gained significant momentum in scientific production in recent years. Rector Dalgar, expressing that MAKÜ has reached a structure producing qualified work at an international level by completing its institutionalization process in the 20 years since its establishment, noted that academic quality is one of the main priorities.

Notable increase in Q1 and Q2 publications

According to 2025 data, Rector Dalgar conveyed that there was a 50% increase in the number of publications in Q1 and Q2 categories in Web of Science and Scopus indexes, and they rose to first place among universities without a medical faculty in Turkey, and fifth among all universities.

Strong support for the research ecosystem

Rector Dalgar stated that the BAP budget was increased sevenfold in the last two years to support scientific research, and new support mechanisms aimed at strengthening international collaborations were also implemented.

Academic success as an institutional priority

Rector Dalgar emphasized that workplace harmony and team spirit at the university support scientific production, and stated that qualified publications increase the academic visibility of the university.

The program concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to academics publishing in Q1 and Q2 categories.
