Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) is hosting 12 Uzbek students within the framework of the cooperation conducted with Uzbekistan World Economy and Diplomacy University.

Within the scope of the program organized at MAKÜ Turkish Teaching Center (TÖMER), 12 Uzbek students are both receiving Turkish language education and participating in social and cultural activities as part of the cooperation with Uzbekistan World Economy and Diplomacy University.

Accompanied by two faculty members, the students who came to Burdur have the opportunity to closely get to know the historical and cultural values of the city in addition to the weekly Turkish lessons. During the program, students gain experiences about Turkey's cultural texture by visiting Burdur's important historical sites in their free time.

The students visited MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar. During the visit, Rector Dalgar chatted with the students and received information about Uzbekistan and their universities. The Uzbek students, on the other hand, introduced both their country and the university they study at through two separate presentations.

Following the visit, Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar stated, “We are very pleased to host students from Uzbekistan World Economy and Diplomacy University at our university. Our guest students, who have started learning Turkish within MAKÜ TÖMER, will also have the opportunity to discover the historical and cultural riches of Burdur. I hope that such programs, which further strengthen the deep-rooted ties between the two countries, will continue to increase, and I wish success to our students.”

The Turkish education of the Uzbek students will continue until August 16.
