Students of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKU) continue to make a name for themselves with their scientific achievements. The project titled "Preparation, Characterization of Mesoporous Silica and Organosilica Heterogeneous Catalysts Containing Cobalt Phthalocyanine and Examination of Their Catalytic Activities (Conventional and Photocatalytic) in Benzyl Alcohol Oxidation", conducted by Osman Tayyar Arlı, a PhD student in the Department of Chemistry at the Institute of Science, has been granted support within the scope of TUBITAK 1002-A.

In the project, Prof. Dr. Halil Zeki Gök, a faculty member of MAKU Faculty of Arts and Sciences, also serves as an advisor. In this important scientific study, the preparation and characterization of mesoporous silica and organosilica heterogeneous catalysts containing cobalt phthalocyanine will be carried out. In addition, the catalytic activities of these catalysts in benzyl alcohol oxidation will be examined in detail using both conventional and photocatalytic methods.
