About Pre-Registration Results for 2024 Summer School

Yayın Tarihi | 13 July 2024, Saturday

Dear Students,

In light of the numerous phone calls and messages we have received, it has become necessary to make the following announcement regarding our university's summer school program.

According to our summer school calendar; the courses that have been confirmed to open based on the pre-registration results for the 2024 summer school were announced on July 11, 2024. Consequently, some courses, especially practical courses in the Faculty of Health Sciences, could not be opened.

Until today, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our city's hospital administrators and our university's academics, we have been able to provide summer school opportunities to students from many different regions of Turkey without compromising our educational quality.

This year, unlike previous years, a significant restriction has been imposed on the number of students who will participate in summer school course applications by the hospital administration due to important reasons such as the placement of many more intern students in our state hospital where our students need to practice under the national internship program, patient safety, and prevention of hospital infections.

Therefore, it has become impossible to carry out practical trainings, which we attach great importance to maintaining the quality of education, due to reasons beyond our university's control.

We understand our students' reactions to this situation. However, it should be taken into account that the applications made between July 1-10, 2024 are preliminary; the payment of the course fee and the approval of the pre-application does not mean that the course will definitely be opened in the summer school. Indeed, this announcement was made on our university's website on June 11, 2024. It was also stated that whether the courses will be opened or not will be announced on July 11, 2024, according to the summer school calendar within the scope of the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Summer School directive.

In addition, in some units other than the Faculty of Health Sciences, the relevant courses could not be opened in the summer school program because the necessary number of pre-applications for the opening of the course, as stated in the directive, could not be reached.

Despite our best efforts, we regret to inform you that we will not be able to meet our students' summer school requests and, as announced in our previous announcements, we would like to inform you that the fees paid by our students who pre-registered will be refunded to their IBAN numbers in the Student Information System as soon as possible.
